Smooth and easy to drink

My partner and I tried this rum both neat and mixed with pineapple juice. Both were smooth and easy to drink although the rum itself left a bit to be desired. It has the slightest bit of heat when neat. Most rums are sweet and neither of us felt Mount Gay Black Barrel was that.

Good quality rum without breaking the bank.

The Mount Gay Eclipse Heritage Blend Rum is a winner. At first the smell and initial taste make you believe that this may be a harsh cheaper alcohol. However as you swallow the rum it is incredibly smooth with very little to no burn at all. It was such a nice surprise. Since first tasting this rum I have used the rum in mixed drinks and also added to my coffee. It has mixed well and both ways have tasted great. The most dominant flavor I taste is vanilla.
